Sri Lanka, May 30 -- The country's entire transport system will be subject to change in the near future with the introduction of a hub-and-spoke model where private and public buses will operate on a joint time table, Deputy Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development Chathuranga Abeysinghe said.

The Deputy Minister told reporters that the government is planning to introduce a hub-and-spoke model for the transport system after identifying the main cities and feeding routes seperately.

He said private and public buses will run on a joint time table.

"That is the policy of the government. The private sector has to adhere to that," he said.
