Colombo, March 4 -- While there was confusion earlier regarding the legality of agreements involving intermediaries, the government has now secured Cabinet approval for the Korean E-8 visa programme, Deputy Minister of Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra said.

He said the government is committed to ensuring that the first group of E-8 workers is sent to Korea at a reasonable cost, free from the involvement of illegal intermediaries.

He made this statement during a highly attended 'Special Public Day' held at the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) headquarters today.
