Srilanka, March 18 -- Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said today the government expects that the Speaker will take some action against Jaffna District MP Ramanathan Archchuna.

He told the weekly briefing to announce Cabinet decisions that Leader of the House Bimal Ratnayake also requested the Speaker in Parliament yesterday to take action against him.

Responding to a question, the Minister said they expect the Speaker to take some action to protect the dignity of Parliament and stop the particular MP from making racist statments while hiding behind Parliamentary privilleges.
