Sri Lanka, Dec. 1 -- Gold prices in Sri Lanka recorded a sharp increase today (01) in line with a significant surge in the international market.
According to market traders, the global price of gold has risen by USD 4,238, triggering a corresponding jump in local rates. Compared to November 25, 2025, gold prices in Sri Lanka have climbed by Rs. 5,500, with Rs. 2,000 of that increase reported today alone.
With the latest revision, the price of a 22-carat gold sovereign in the Colombo Pettah gold market has reached Rs. 314,700, traders said.
