Sri Lanka, Aug. 11 -- The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) has temporarily suspended its islandwide trade union action, which was set to begin today, citing "positive outcomes" from discussions held with the Health Minister.

In a statement, the GMOA Executive Committee said the decision was made following agreements on key concerns, particularly regarding the transfer process of doctors.

The union said it will closely monitor the progress of these commitments before deciding on any future course of action.
