Sri Lanka, Jan. 23 -- As Sri Lanka opened its borders for international travel on Thursday, the first tourism trade delegation from Germany arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) yesterday, at 1:40 a.m., for an Ayurvedic holiday in Sri Lanka.

The tourism trade delegation consisted of Uwe Endres and Klaudia Wagner from Fit Reisen Group, Germany, Markus Hegeman from Neue Wege GmbH, a celebrated travel agent, who promotes Ayurvedic tour packages and Ayurveda tourism in Germany and two lifestyle journalists, Natalia Gutermann and Hans-Jorg Baston.

The visit by the German trade-tourism delegation marks great significance to instil confidence among the international travellers as Sri Lanka resumes tourism in the new normal.
