Sri Lanka, July 6 -- Former Eastern Provincial Councillor K. Pushpakumar, also known as 'Iniya Barathi' and an associate of 'Pillayan', has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Police said he was arrested in connection with an alleged kidnapping incident dating back to 2006.
