Sri Lanka, Dec. 18 -- Former Deputy Minister representing the Anuradhapura District, S.C. Muthukumarana has passed away due to an illness.

Muthukumarana was elected to Parliament from the Anuradhapura District and later served as Deputy Minister of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms, during which time he was actively involved in Parliamentary and Ministerial duties.

Meanwhile, former Member of Parliament Janak Mahendra Adhikari has also passed away following a prolonged illness.

He was 60 years old at the time of his death.

Adhikari served as a Member of Parliament and was the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Electoral Organiser for the Kekirawa electorate.
