Sri Lanka, Dec. 22 -- Five individuals were arrested after they behaved violently during a protest outside the Tissa Rajamaha Viharaya in Kankesanthurai, Jaffna.
A group led by Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi MP S. Shritharan had organised a protest outside the temple, calling for the release of the lands of the temple, which he claimed to belong to the civilians.
Police arrested five protestors when they attempted to forcibly enter the temple premises.
Palali police had obtained a court order against the protest.
