Sri Lanka, Feb. 16 -- The Meteorology Department has issued a warning for multiday boat operators and the naval community following the formation of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, today.
The system is expected to bring heavy showers or thundershowers, strong winds reaching 50-60 kmph, and rough to very rough seas in the affected area. Authorities have urged all fishing and naval operations to exercise extreme caution.
"The naval and fishing communities are advised to closely monitor updates and future forecasts issued by the Meteorological Department," the advisory said, emphasizing preparedness to ensure safety at sea.
