Srilanka, May 6 -- The Election Commission has released the first results of the 2025 Local Government Election.

Accordingly, the National People's Power (NPP) emerged victorious in the Tangalle Urban Council, Hambantota, securing 2,260 votes and 9 seats.

The SJB obtained 1,397 votes and 5 seats, while the SLPP gained 795 votes and 3 seats. The UNP and Sarvajana Balaya secured one seat each.
