Srilanka, Jan. 31 -- A fire that broke out in a container at the Bandaranaike Quay IV (BQ IV) terminal in the Port of Colombo last night has been extinguished, police said.

At around 7:45 PM, smoke was seen billowing from a container at the terminal, prompting immediate action from the Colombo Port Control Office. The office contacted the Western Naval Command Operations Room for assistance, leading to the dispatch of a specialised firefighting team.
