Sri Lanka, June 20 -- The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said that final commissioning tests are currently underway at the Kelanitissa Combined Cycle Power Station.
The CEB said that the 165 MW facility is the only power plant in the country operating on Naphtha fuel, a by-product of the national refinery. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to play a vital role in strengthening the country's power generation capacity.
Further details on the commissioning progress and expected grid connection date are yet to be officially disclosed.
