Colombo, April 4 -- Secretary to former Minister of Indigenous Medicine was further remanded today till April 8 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali over an alleged bribery offense involving the issuing of an Ayurvedic medical registration certificate.
Suspect Chandana Kumara Siriwardena is alleged to have solicited a sum of Rs. 1 million and accepted a bribe of Rs. 500,000 in consideration for facilitating the issuing of a registration certificate from the Ayurvedic Medical Council, thereby certifying an individual as a traditional indigenous medical practitioner.
