Srilanka, May 5 -- The Eta Aquarids meteor shower will reach its peak tomorrow (6) and remain visible till May 27, the Astronomy Division of the Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies said.
They explained that these meteors originate from the debris trail of Comet 1P/Halley (Halley's Comet). As Earth passes through this trail, particles from the comet collide with our atmosphere, creating the spectacular Eta Aquarids.
The meteors will appear to radiate from the constellation Aquarius, with about 40-85 meteors visible per hour, depending on sky conditions. To view them, look towards the eastern horizon near the constellation Aquarius after 3:00 a.m. tomorrow.
