Colombo, March 4 -- Labour Minister Anil Jayantha today pledged to use EPF and ETF funds to bring in more benefits to the working people instead of unproductive investments that it had made in the past.

"We have seen how EPF and ETF was invested in an unproductive manner in the past. However, we will bring in new laws to ensure that the working people get maximum benefit by putting these funds for more productive use," the Minister said winding up the committee stage debate on the budget in Parliament.

Also, he pledged to digitalize EPF and ETF tougher with Ministry of Digital Technology Development. "EPF and ETF will be operated online in the future," he said in this regard.
