Srilanka, Feb. 20 -- Claiming that judges have been informed that their security will be withdrawn, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa today urged the government not withdraw their security but to take steps to strengthen their security amidst escalating crimes in the country.
He told Parliament that the judges had been informed in writing that the security which had been provided to them so far will be removed and requested the Public Security Minister not to go ahead with the move, but rather strengthen their security due to the escalating crimes.
Premadasa said steps must be taken to ensure security of the people, media personnel and Members of Parliament as well.
