Sri Lanka, Feb. 12 -- A Russian woman who attempted to take a photo of a wild elephant frequenting the Buttala - Kataragama road on Tuesday evening (10) received serious injuries when the jumbo charged her. She was admitted to the Hambantota general hospital
Police said the tourist couple on their way to Kataragama by trishaw had halted the trishaw to watch a wild elephant frequenting the roadside and the woman attempted to go close to the jumbo and take a photo. However her husband had escaped unhurt.
She had been rushed to the Kataragama divisional hospital and subsequently transferred to the Hambantota General Hospital.
Kataragama police conducted the investigations.
