Sri Lanka, Jan. 19 -- An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 struck Ladakh's Leh on Monday. The tremors were also felt in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), and nearby regions of India's neighbouring countries in the north.
The epicentre was located 290 km north-west of Kargil at a depth of 171 km, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) informed via an alert.
The earthquake struck at 11:51 am, per the central agency. The impact was felt way beyond Ladakh, with tremors reaching as far away as Tajikistan in Central Asia, according to the intensity map accompanying the NCS alert. Besides
