Sri Lanka, May 29 -- Former Minister Duminda Dissanayake has been further remanded until June 5 in connection with a case involving the discovery of a firearm at an apartment complex in Havelock Town.

He was arrested on May 23 following an investigation by the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) and was initially remanded after being produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate's Court.

The investigation relates to a gold-plated T-56 assault rifle found at the apartment complex on May 20. Authorities are continuing inquiries into the ownership and circumstances surrounding the weapon.
