Colombo, March 6 -- The legalisation of certain drugs and its widespread use in Israel, has resulted in Sri Lankans living in the country becoming addicted to substances such as ice and marijuana, leading to mental instability, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the State of Israel Nimal Bandara claimed.
Addressing the media he said that this has led to Sri Lanka potentially losing some of its future job opportunities or fellow Sri Lankans losing their jobs in Israel altogether.
He said that Sri Lankans living in Israel have formed various groups on social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp and are organising protests and strikes demanding various facilities.
