Colombo, Dec. 30 -- Former Minister Douglas Devananda, who was recently arrested and remanded, has been admitted to the Mahara Prison Hospital.

He was transferred to the Prison Hospital following medical examinations, based on recommendations made by attending doctors regarding his health condition.

Douglas Devananda was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on the 26th in connection with a firearms-related incident.
