Sri Lanka, Nov. 28 -- The government has instructed the District Secretaries to obtain the services of private boats if the boats assigned by the Sri Lanka Navy for relief work are not sufficient, Chief Government Whip Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said today.

He told Parliament that the District Secretaries have been instructed to use the funds allocated for disaster relief for this matter.

The Minister said Navy boats have been kept on standby throughout the country for any emergency situation.
