Sri Lanka, June 21 -- Digital learning systems should be introduced in schools while making sure that all schools receive fair access to teachers, equipment and other resources, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said.
She said this during a meeting held with the Task Force appointed by the Cabinet to lead the Digital Education Transformation project for students from Grade 6 to 13.
The discussion focused on starting the digital shift in education, solving related problems and setting the right rules and plans.
The Prime Minister pointed out that there is currently a shortage of more than 42,000 teachers in both national and provincial schools, and that this issue needs to be fixed urgently.
