Sri Lanka, Aug. 28 -- Transport and Highways Deputy Minister Dr. Prasanna Gunasena strongly condemned the trade union action launched by Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) employees, claiming that it was initiated following discussions with Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa.

Explaining the situation, the Deputy Minister said the private-public joint timetable was not a new concept and had already been implemented in some provinces. He noted that the timetable is currently in operation in the Southern Province and was recently extended to the Puttalam (A5) route.
