Sri Lanka, June 25 -- A countrywide Dengue and Chikungunya eradication programme will be conducted across all schools in the country on July 9, aiming to curb the current spread of the diseases.

The initiative, titled Clean Sri Lanka Day, is being organised by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat.

A discussion on the organisational aspects of the programme was held yesterday (24) at the Education Ministry, chaired by Deputy Minister Madura Seneviratne.
