Srilanka, Feb. 11 -- 'Sinhale' national organiser and convenor Dan Priyasad has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning upon his arrival in the country, Police Media Spokesman Buddhika Manatunga said.

He said that the Nikaweratiya Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau had launched an investigation against Dan Priyasad for allegedly pressuring the Nanneriya Police OIC not to arrest a drug trafficker in 2024.

The Galgamuwa Magistrate's Court had issued a foreign travel ban on Dan Priyasad, along with an order for his arrest and subsequent production before court.

Dan Priyasad is to be taken to the Nikaweratiya Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau for further investigations.
