Sri Lanka, Dec. 18 -- Claiming that the country's road network has been constructed without paying attention to soil protection, Deputy Minister Prasanna Gunasena said today that the government is planning to restore the damaged roads with soil protection.
He told Parliament that the government will plan to allocate funds for damage improvement and safety structure development of the damaged roads.
The Minister said 1,450 kilometres of A and B grade roads have been completely damaged and that the cost to restore these roads has been estimated to be approximately Rs. 75 billion.
