Sri Lanka, Dec. 11 -- Daisy Forrest, the grand-aunt of Yoshitha Rajapaksa - son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa - appeared before the Colombo Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) today for an assessment of her mental fitness to stand trial.

Her appearance followed a notification made by the Attorney General to the Colombo High Court yesterday, confirming that Forrest would present herself for the medical evaluation.

The update was conveyed when the case filed against her under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Rashmi Singappuli. The court is expected to consider the JMO's report in determining the next steps in the proceedings.
