Sri Lanka, Oct. 31 -- Sri Lanka Customs has surpassed the Rs. 2 trillion mark in tax revenue collection this year, achieving a historic milestone for the government's revenue department.

The record-breaking collections bring the department closer to its annual target of Rs. 2.115 trillion for 2025. Of the total revenue, Rs. 630 billion was collected from motor vehicle-related duties.

Officials expressed confidence that Customs could exceed the target by an additional Rs. 300 billion by year-end, further strengthening the department's record as the highest annual revenue collection in its history.
