Sri Lanka, May 28 -- The Colombo High Court today ordered that steps be taken to provide newspapers to Nadun Chinthaka, alias Harak Kata, who is currently detained at Tangalle Prison.
When the case against Harak Kata was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Sujeewa Nissanka, Counsel Sanjiya Ariyadasa, appearing for the accused, stated that despite a previous court order, the authorities had failed to implement the directive to provide newspapers.
At that time, the State Counsel, appearing on behalf of the Attorney General, informed the court that there had been some difficulty in providing daily newspapers, but assured that steps would be taken to ensure newspapers are made available.
