Sri Lanka, Feb. 15 -- The Consumer Affairs Authority has managed to find a hidden stock of Keeri Samba rice in the Pettah area, intended for supply to top-notch hotels and high-class customers.
Several traders on Dam Street and Fifth Cross Street had hidden this stock of rice.
About 950 packets of Keeri Samba rice have been found here.
The Consumer Affairs Authority is currently conducting raids to find traders who are selling rice at higher prices, causing inconvenience to consumers, as well as traders who are hiding rice stocks.
Accordingly, this raid was carried out based on a special intelligence information received by the Western Provincial Intelligence Unit.
