Sri Lanka, Nov. 20 -- A complaint was lodged with the Bribery Commission over an illegal payment of Rs. 1,067,000 to 18 trade union members of the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Ltd., (CPSTL) as salaries and overtime payments, Power and Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody said today.

He told Parliament that the Presidential Commission has revealed that 18 trade union members of the CPSTL had been released from service for 17 days to promote trade union activities, thus incurring a loss of Rs. 1,067,000 to the state by illegally paying them salaries and overtime payments.

The Minister said a complaint was lodged with the Bribery Commission regarding the matter.
