Sri Lanka, Nov. 11 -- A commotion took place in Parliament when MP Dayasiri Jayasekera raised a question over the crisis that has occurred in economic centres where he said the work has come to a standstill. He said no buying and selling are taking place in economic centres.
Minister of Trade Wasantha Samarasinghe, who responded, said the government has already embarked on issues, especially with regard to potatoes and onions growers.
Leader of the House Bimal Ratnayake said no MP should be allowed to disrupt the decorum of the House by raising questions.
Arguments arose after this comment and Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne said MP Jayasekera should bring in an adjournment debate with regard to the economic centres.
