Sri Lanka, June 25 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) informed the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court that an investigation has been launched into the overseas trips undertaken by former President Ranil Wickremesinghe during his Presidency.

Presenting facts before Colombo Fort Magistrate Nilupuli Lankapura, CID officers stated that the inquiry is being conducted under the Offences Against Public Property Act.
