Sri Lanka, May 27 -- An Assistant Controller of the Department of Immigration and Emigration was arrested by the CID this morning for allegedly issuing three fake passports to underworld operative 'Kehelbaddara Padme', the police said.

The Criminal Investigation Department sleuths took the Assistant Controller attached to the Passport Division of the DIE Head Office in Battaramulla.

Kehelbaddara Padme, who is currently in Dubai is wanted by the police for the slaying of underworld kingpin 'Ganemulla Sanjeewa'.
