Sri Lanka, May 19 -- Badulla District Parliamentarian Chamara Sampath Dassanayake has been released on bail by the Badulla Magistrate's Court in connection with a case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) over the alleged misuse of state funds.

The court granted the MP two personal bails of Rs. 1 million each on charges related to the misappropriation of Rs. 1 million.

The case stems from allegations during his tenure as Chief Minister of Uva Province.
