Sri Lanka, Nov. 28 -- The Central Province remains completely cut off from the rest of the country due to extensive damages to key highways, an official said.
Director General of the Road Development Authority (RDA) Wimal Kandambi said that action has been taken to restore the Kurunegala- Kandy road immediately.
"That is the only highway that can be restored soon. The others remain inundated," he said.
He said Sri Lanka's highway network suffered the most extensive damages due to the adverse weather conditions this time.
As many as 75 roads remained damaged yesterday due to landslides, rockfalls, cut- failures and earth-slips, he added.
