Sri Lanka, Nov. 18 -- The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has reported a significant drop in its financial performance, with profits for the third quarter of 2025 falling sharply to Rs. 3.58 billion, according to its latest financial statements.

This marks an 85% decline compared to the Rs. 24.58 billion profit recorded during the same quarter last year. The figure also reflects a 32.5% drop from the Rs. 5.31 billion profit earned in the second quarter of 2025.

Overall, the CEB has posted a net loss of Rs. 9.58 billion for the period from January to September 2025. This represents a 107% downturn compared to the substantial profit of Rs. 143.79 billion recorded during the corresponding period in 2024.
