Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Engineers' Association has decided to step up its protest against the government's proposal to divide the CEB into four separate entities.
Dhanushka Parakramasinghe, a member of the Association's Executive Committee, said the first phase of their "work-to-rule" campaign concluded on Sunday (15), with the second phase beginning on Monday (16).
Outlining the next steps, Parakramasinghe said the union will escalate its trade union measures in the coming days, including selective participation in tender committees and resignations from others, as part of their opposition to the restructuring plan.
