Colombo, April 21 -- The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) announced that the renewable energy curtailment, which began on April 10 ahead of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year holidays due to reduced electricity demand and the need to ensure grid stability, has concluded earlier than planned.

CEB media spokesman Engineer Dhammika Wimalaratne said that initially scheduled to continue until 3:00 p.m. today (21), the curtailment period was successfully brought to a close at 3:00 p.m. yesterday (20), following a notable increase in electricity demand across the country.

As of now, there is no renewable energy curtailment in effect, he said.
