Sri Lanka, May 28 -- Ceylon Electricity Board's attempt to curtail renewable energy and to promote thermal and coal energy to produce electricity is said to be a mafia, according to Sustainable Energy Authority officials.

According to Sustainable Energy Authority sources, it is questionable why the CEB says that larger power plants provide a critical service to the grid to keep the electricity frequency stable though solar or renewable energy cannot provide such an assurance.
