Sri Lanka, March 20 -- The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) is stepping up efforts to bring more districts into the digital economy, to reduce cash dependency and promote mobile-based transactions.

As part of this initiative, the CBSL announced it would hold its next Digital Payments Promotion Campaign on March 22 and 23, in Nuwara Eliya, introducing more businesses and consumers to cashless payment solutions.

The event, hosted at Gregory Lake car park, will feature banks, finance companies, telecom providers and MSMEs, offering hands-on registration and demonstrations of digital payment platforms.
