Sri Lanka, Feb. 10 -- The Court of Appeal has ordered the transfer of proceedings in the case against Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security and retired Senior DIG Ravi Seneviratne from the Mount Lavinia Additional Magistrate's Court to the Mount Lavinia Chief Magistrate's Court.
The case relates to allegations that Ravi Seneviratne drove under the influence of alcohol and failed to prevent a road accident in 2023.
Seneviratne had filed a transfer application before the Court of Appeal seeking to move the case from the Mount Lavinia Magistrate's Court to another court. The Court of Appeal two-judge bench comprised Justices Mayadunne Corea and Mahen Gopallawa.
