Sri Lanka, June 23 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa today urged the government to call for an urgent meeting of the national security council to assess the risks that Sri Lanka has to face when it comes to the conflict in the Middle East.

"We also urge the government to draw up an emergency economic plan to minimise the effect which the conflict might have on Sri Lanka's economy. We propose that the government discuss such a plan with the IMF as well," he added.
