Sri Lanka, Jan. 6 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved proposals to enhance healthcare services in government hospitals through public-private partnerships (PPP) under a performance-based payment scheme.
With the rise of non-communicable diseases and increasing demand for advanced diagnostic services, patients have faced long waiting times and limited access to key medical equipment such as CT scanners, MRI scanners, DSA units, cardiac catheterization machines, and automated hematology and biochemistry analyzers. Financial constraints and complex procurement procedures have further delayed the acquisition and maintenance of such equipment in government hospitals.
