Sri Lanka, Feb. 3 -- The Cabinet has approved a proposal to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Sri Lanka and Finland to establish a formal political consultation mechanism, Cabinet spokesman and Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said.
Addressing the media, Minister Jayatissa said the proposal was submitted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism. He noted that Sri Lanka and Finland established official diplomatic relations in 1954, with 2026 marking the 72nd anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
