Sri Lanka, Nov. 28 -- A bus carrying approximately 70 passengers has been stranded for nearly an hour and a half on the Kalawewa Bridge along the Anuradhapura-Puttalam road., Parliament was informed today (28).
Raising the matter during parliamentary proceedings, MP Ajith P. Perera said that the bus had come to a halt on the bridge and remained unable to move since early this morning. He highlighted the urgent need for assistance given the number of passengers on board.
Responding to the issue, Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara confirmed the incident, noting that authorities had instructed the bus not to proceed due to safety concerns. "The Anuradhapura incident is correct. That bus was informed not to go. Accordingly, it is stuck,"...
