Sri Lanka, July 7 -- The Authorities have decided to look into the possibility of converting the Beira Lake into an aerodrome. An initial discussion has been held in this regard with the participation of Defense Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) at the Ministry of Defence recently to discuss the matter.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders to review plans for Cinnamon Air, operated by Saffron Aviation (Pvt) Ltd, to take over seaplane operations at the historic Beira Lake Seaplane Base.
