Sri Lanka, Dec. 1 -- Assistant Secretary of the National Disaster Relief Services Centre (NDRSC), Jayatissa Munasinghe, urged the public to remain alert to the rising risks of infectious and vector-borne diseases as floodwaters begin to recede across affected areas.

Speaking at a media briefing held today (01) at the Defence Headquarters, Munasinghe said each Divisional Secretariat has already been allocated Rs. 50 million to provide immediate relief to communities impacted by the disaster.
